Our Story
In Arlington ISD, if you participated in the 6th grade band, you got the chance to play in a winter concert along with other local elementary schools at the end of the year. Trey played saxophone at Pearcy Elementary. Danielle played the oboe at Ashworth Elementary. They did not speak at the concert, but little did they know, they would run into each other again soon. They attended the 6th grade D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) dance where Danielle was walking with her friend Sydney Wells. Danielle saw Trey walking towards her and asked "Hey, weren't you at the band concert?" and from there the 3 of them had a conversation about band and what junior high they'd be attending. They came to the realization that they'd be at the same schools together until they graduate with their high school diplomas.
Trey and Danielle would date in 7th grade for 2 weeks until the fateful day came where he walked her home, missed his bus, and young Danielle told him "I didn't ask you to walk me home." Due to his extreme immaturity, they broke up on the spot. (lol)
So ever since their 7th grade breakup, they had been good friends, through high school (the won senior homecoming together) and college. Trey attended Tarleton State University and Danielle attended Stephen F. Austin University. They went off to college and lived their lives, but whenever they were back at their parents houses during the holiday breaks, they would always catch up with one another. After college, as they progressed into adulthood, they were still friends, would hang out when Danielle had get togethers at her parents house or her house (she got a house in 2018) or for birthdays, etc.
On Danielle's 30th birthday (February 2020), she had some liquid courage and asked Trey to stay the night, they kissed (nothing else) but it was weird because they had crossed the friend boundary. They discussed it and decided to try to ignore it, but that didn't really work. During COVID they got to know each other on a deeper level. As time progressed, they realized they were what each person was missing. After more conversation, understanding, and time spent together, Trey formally asked Danielle to be his girlfriend and she said yes. From there, they've been growing in life together.
Trey proposed on their 2 year anniversary on December 9, 2023 and now we are here for the wedding :)
